Departure from Almaty

In the morning, the driver will pick you up from the designated address and you will go to the Tamgaly Tas tract (120 km, about 2 hours)

Arrival in Tamgaly Tas, walking tour

Upon arrival, you will have a walking tour by the Ili River (1 hour), where many petroglyphs, images of mysterious deities, late Buddhist inscriptions have been preserved on the rocks

Departure to the village of Basshi

Road to the village of Basshi (200 km, about 2.5 hours) and lunch at the hotel

Departure to the singing Dune

Departure to the singing Dune (50 km, about 1 hour) and a walking tour (2 hours)

Departure to Almaty (300 km, about 4 hours); the driver will leave you anywhere in the city

What to take with you to Altyn-Emel?

  • Comfortable shoes. Sneakers or boots will be a good helper when walking in the mountains; ideally, if the shoes are waterproof
  • Comfortable clothes. Clothes that do not restrict movement, easy to walk in
  • Sun protection. Sunglasses, a hat and cream will help you out in sunny weather
  • Insect protection. Ticks, mosquitoes and midges may occasionally be encountered during your trip, so insect protection will not be superfluous (repellent, ointment, etc.)
